Today has turned out to be cloudy, breezy...with rain coming from what was the tropical depression that moved on shore from the Atlantic. Not a good day for any outdoor activities. The steaks went into the refrigerator for grilling later...probably tomorrow. I decided it would be a good time to go through my WIP basket and take a look at the projects I have in various stages of completion. Take a few minutes and join me as I look into my basket.
This doily is from an Ondori publication called "Crochet Treasures". I've had this book for many years and have really enjoyed it. It's being made with #30 thread.
This is a runner I've been working on. The pattern for the square was found on Picasa, but modified slightly by "yours truly" to fit my needs. It's being made with #10 thread. It currently measures 38 inches by 7 inches. I think it needs to be wider by at least 1 more row...and somewhat longer. I had started it intending for it to be a runner on a dresser.
This one I haven't gotten very far on. The row I'm working on has really confused me so I had laid it aside and started working on something else. I really must get back on this doily as it is absolutely beautiful when finished. It's called Royal Garden Doily. I'm sure if you do a google search, you will see a completed doily. It's being made with #10 thread and should measure 14 inches when completed.
This is the doily I'm currently working on in the basket. It comes from off the web. Sorry, but I'm the world's worst at making a note of the web address when I find a doily I like. I'm on row 25 of 31 rows. The final 4 rows will be done in red....thus it will be a red-white-blue doily. It's being made with #10 thread.
Hope you enjoyed the peek into my WIP basket.
Linda

They're all looking very pretty so far. :)
ReplyDeleteO my, they are such pretty doilies, I wish I could do just half that much. I can't read the directions to well and get frustrated so most to the small doilies that I do do I have found them at a second hand store and try to follow the patterns..visually...I love crocheting. I had a Aunt who would smoke cigs, watch T.V. and belt them out huge table cloth ones with designs you name it..I just admired them. She did hang around long enough for me to learn. So I learned to crochet with yarn first..but had a passion inside for fine doilies, So little by little I have taught myself. I love your work and I'm so glad you share it...Happy Memorial Day...with love Janice
ReplyDeleteSuch pretty WIPs. Can't wait to see them when you finish.
ReplyDeleteWhat magnificent pieces. They are all stunning, but the runner is amazing.
