New header

I've been wanting to build a new header for my blog but was having a real  problem getting it to work in Photoshop.  I'm self taught so my knowledge was limited.  Found a site that walked me through making one using the Picasa software.  It was really easy and I like the way it turned out.  May follow through and make multiple collages so I can change them out on the blog during the year.  Especially want to make one with a Christmas theme for that time of the year.

Picture sizes

I've been seeing some different blogs with really nice/large pictures and had to find out how to make the pictures on my blog larger.  After some online reading I was able to determine how to do this.  I've resized the photos in the last couple of blog entries and really like them.

What do you think?

I may just go back thru the blog and resize all the photos to the larger size.

It's been raining here most the afternoon....and a good time to work on this project.

Another doily

This doily is the combination of two things:  (1) the center portion of a doily I found on the web and (2) my ending for it.  It was made using #20 white thread with a #12 hook and measures 13 inches across.  I may go back and make the doily from the entire pattern at a later date.

Cille's doily

This doily was designed by Cille Heckenbach, a very talented lady with thread crochet.  It's called "Pineapple Delight".  The doily was made with #10 white thread and #10 pink thread (ThreadArt brand).  It measures 13 1/2 inches across when made with a #8 hook.

I liked it so well that I made a 2nd one.  I now have a pair!!!

Thank you Cille for sharing your pattern!

New pieces

My husband liked the gold/white doily so much I had made a while ago and since that one went to a friend, he wanted me to make another one to keep.  This is such a pretty pattern that would lend itself well to colors; made with #10 thread it measures 18 1/2 inches across.  I'm seeing red/white/blue in one in the future.

This doily comes from a foreign magazine called Dekoratives Hakeln, the issue #72 and measures 17 inches across with #10 thread.  It seems a little full on the outer edges and is trying to buckle.  May need another stretching to smooth it out more.

I just love the pineapples ...  they look as though they are in bloom.

The final piece is oblong and a pattern that I found on Picasa.  Sorry, but I didn't mark the location where it was found.  Made with #10 thread it measures 15 inches x 25 inches.  This pattern would work well in multi colors also.

Happy EASTER to everyone!
