The Double Pineapple Doily comes from a book called "Sparkling White Doilies" (Star Doily Book No. 91), published by the American Thread Company in 1952. It was made with #30 thread and #12 hook. The finished doilies measures 18 1/2 inches.
Here's the front page of the book. May just have to add the oval one on the cover to my "want to make" list...

Dear Linda,
Thank you so much for visiting and leaving a comment in my blog.
As usual, your double pineapple is stunning! I did mine last year before I got my full time blog. Mine was done in pearl cotton no. 8 yet the finished size is 18 inches only. I'm just wondering why I always finished my doilies smaller than what's indicated in the pattern and inspecting my stitches, for me I don't find them too tight? Maybe it is just me... One thing I realized when I did the double pineapple with pearl cotton is that, it will never be stiff no matter how you blocked and starched it. I noticed that on the second washing, it got softer so I guess, for doilies specially as big as this one, I won't use pearl cotton anymore.
Hugs,
Toni

Your doilies are gorgeous. Despite efforts, I just can't handle thread, and I'm so envious.
