Hello on Monday
Week 4 of retirement! Got through the clean out phase. Goodwill certainly benefited from it. Still trying to get my posting of completed work updated. I've almost finished my inventory of thread on hand. I'm am almost ashamed to say its a LOT....but you know a doily addict can never have too much thread.
Happy Monday to everyone!!

Summer Splendor Doily
Finished this doily earlier in the year. I had made it several years ago, and gifted to someone. This one was made for me. The name of the doily is Summer Splendor by Denise Augostine. It was made with #10 thread using a #10 hook. The color is a little off in the 1st picture. The true color is more like the close up below. Measures 12 inches.
The pattern can obtained HERE for free.

Red Heart Doily
Still enjoying retirement! My days are busy, but they are busy with what I want to do for a change instead of getting up and going to work each day. Weekends are more relaxing since I'm not running around doing laundry, shopping, cooking meals for the next week. It's a refreshing change!
I call this one "Red Heart Doily". It was made with #20 Lizbeth thread using a #12 hook, and measures 13 inches. The pattern came from a foreign magazine called Diana Overages, #125.

Spring Pineapple Floral Lace Doily
A long name, but definitely a beautiful doily. The pattern is by Cylinda Mathews of Crochetmemories. com. Made with Artiste #10 thread using a #8/1.50mm hook and measures 20 inches. Colors used were porcelain, cornsilk, and spearmint. I did substitute a different rose pattern and changed the last row as I waned more greenery around the roses.
Thanks for stopping by and have a "grand" day!!

A dream
Have you ever come across a doily that you dream about making? Well, that's what is happening to me. I saw this doily on a foreign forum where someone else was also trying to locate the source of the pattern. It's so beautiful (to me). Hope I run across the pattern some day soon!
Off to dream about this doily.....

Retirement and a doily
Well, the day finally arrived!! April 29th was my last day of working, now moving on into retirement. I have been in the workforce for over 50 years! My 1st week of retirement was spent in just some "R&R", along with some cleaning out. It's amazing what you can accumulate over the years that you really don't need and never use. We have made two trips to Goodwill and there will be many more as I go from room to room, closet to closet, and drawer to drawer deciding what goes and what stays.
Now to get caught up with blocking and posting of doilies I've made over the last several months. There was never enough time with holding down a full time job.
This doily was found on the internet and didn't have a name. It was made with #20 thread using #11 hook, and measures 19 inches. It was finished in November of last year.
