Vintage Design 759--finished (almost)

The doily is finished, EXCEPT, for weaving in the ends on each point.  There are 12 points with 2 ends each = 24 ends, PLUS the two ends for the edging.  That means I have 26 ends to weave in with #30 thread.....very tedious!!!  Hopefully I can get it done over the 3-day holiday weekend.

Vintage Design 759

Take a peek at my current project.  The pattern is simply called "Design 759".  According to the directions using #30 thread and a #10 hook it should be 25 inches.  I'm using Clark's Big Ball  #30 thread and a #11 hook.  I have had several balls of this thread for many years and thought it would be great in a vintage pattern.  You can see an unopened ball in one of the pictures.

Pineapple Fanfare Doily

I love doilies with pineapples in them and this one is no exception.  It's called "Pineapple Fanfare Doily" and comes from a Leisure Arts "Little Books" # 75013 called Pineapple Doilies  published in 1999.  It was made with #10 thread and a #8 hook.  It measures 15 inches blocked.  This doily would also be beautiful in Christmas Colors.  Imagine the inner cluster stitches done in green, the outer cluster stitches done in red, and the final round done in gold thread.  It would be beautiful!  Not too much color, but enough to really set it off.

Fresh as a Daisy Doily

This doily comes from Decorative Crochet issue 72, November 1999.  Made with #20 thread and a #10 hook it measures 15 inches completed.  The colored thread is LizBeth #20, color #628, salmon medium.

Double Pineapple Doily

The Double Pineapple Doily comes from a book called "Sparkling White Doilies" (Star Doily Book No. 91), published by the American Thread Company in 1952.  It was made with #30 thread and #12 hook.  The finished doilies measures 18 1/2 inches.

Here's the front page of the book. May just have to add the oval one on the cover to my "want to make" list...
