Red Roses in Filet

I'm still working on the white piece in filet that I recently shared a progress report on, but wanted to share another project just completed.  I call this one "Red Roses in Filet".  The pattern was found on Picasa (can't remember where).  I did change the border to something else.  It was made with LizBeth #20 thread using a #14 hook.  It measures 20" by 11 1/2 " .

Current Project-update

I just finished the 2nd ball of Lizbeth #20 thread in making this filet doily.  I'm on row 40 of 74 rows.   The 74 row count includes the scallops on the outer edge.

A current project

I have been working on a vintage Calla Lily doily and I'm just not happy with the way it is turning out.  It just leaves something to be desired in the doily pattern.   So, for a break I decided to try a new filet piece.  It's been a few years since I've done any filet.  I'm using #20 Lizbeth in white with a #12 hook. I'm currently about 1/3 finished.  Here's a picture of the finished doily from the Ondori book it comes from.  I had been "eyeing" the pattern for some time.

Pineapple Swirl Doily

This doily is from a Japanese publication that I found on Picasa.  I didn't mark the site; just saw the doily and wanted to make it.  It was made with #10 hook using #8 thread and measures 15 inches.  Started 8/15/13; finished 8/28/13.
