Nativity Doily
Just took my last Christmas theme doily off the blocking board. (Only made a couple Christmas theme thread items this year) I found this pattern last year and just fell in love with it. It measures 22 inches across when made with a fine thread. I call it my Nativity doily.
Wishing everyone a very Merry Christmas!

Primrose Doily
Another wonderful design by Grace Fearon that I had the pleasure of testing for her. It's called "Primrose", and was made using Artiste #10 thread in the color Porcelain, and a #4/2.00mm hook. The finished doily measures 18 inches.
This design was the First Place winner of the Crochet Guild of America 2017 Design Competition in the "thread" catagory! Congratulations to Grace! Looking at the doily, I can see why.
This will definitely be made again!
Hope you had a blessed and safe Thanksgiving day! If you are traveling back home, be safe!
Thanks for stopping by.

Rosaline Doily
Another beautiful design by Grace Fearon. Made with Artiste #10 thread using a 2.00mm hook. Finished doily measures 14 inches. The picture with the pattern shows the outer edges rounded, but I like the points I made when blocking mine. This a lovely doily with lots of texture, for which Grace is known in her designs.
Please remember the people in Texas and Louisiana in your prayers. I cannot imagine what they are going thru with all the water!

I liked it so much that I made two of them using Artiste #10 in the color eggnogg with a #4/2.00mm hook. They measure 18 1/2 inches. Will be part of the group donated for the school auction next May.
Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend!

I'm really not LAZY!!
I thought retirement would give me a lot of free time. What is the 'ole saying "things to do will expand to fill the time available"?? I think that's what has happened to me! I've slowed down so much that I stay busy all the time if you know what I mean! I've got to get it in gear and get organized again.
I have been crocheting, but not posting here. I find I've got 12 completed items that haven't been shared with you faithful followers. All have been completed since the end of May.
WELL, here goes with the first one!
A butterfly runner that was a special order. It was made with #20 vintage thread in the color ecru and measures 18" x 30" inches completed.
Just as a side note, I have recently found a longer runner with this same basic pattern on Pinterest. I may just have to make ONE more, but longer next time. I've about "run" thru this vintage thread, so I'll have to choose another brand to use.

Spring Pineapple Floral Lace doily
This is the 2nd time I have made this doily. The first one was with yellow flowers. The pattern can be found at CrochetMemories and is FREE. It was first introduced as a CAL (crochet-a-long) project, which I truly enjoyed.
This one was made using #10 thread and a #8 hook. Sorry, but I didn't get the measurement. I did use a different rose pattern and changed the last round to add more greenery to the piece. It was donated to the local library for their silent auction to raise money for summer activities for the children.

Happy 4th of July!
"It is anything but difficult to underestimate freedom when you have never had it taken from you." – Dick Cheney
God bless you! Have a safe holiday and remember how blessed we are with the freedoms we currently have in America.
- Cherish them!
- Protect them!
- Don't take them for granted!

LIV doily
Another doily designed by Alli Susiluto called LIV. Made with Aunt Lydia #10 thread in the color Aqua using a #5 hook. Completed doily measures 17 inches across.
The pattern is available on Alli's website HERE. I would classify this pattern for the advanced crocheter due to all the layers involved. It even gave me a difficult time.

It's been a rainy day here today. Gave me some time to organize some patterns and lay out some plans for future projects.
Thanks for stopping by....

Frances doily
Such a hot and muggy day here after some heavy rain yesterday evening. Temperature is in the mid 80s. More scattered showers expected today. A good day to stay inside and keep cool.
Another lovely pattern by Grace Fearon called "Frances". I had made this back in April and just realized I had not shared. Made with Artiste #10 in the color "country rose" and a #5 hook. Measures 14 inches across. The pattern can be be purchased HERE.
I've gotten all messed up in posting! I've found 7 more pieces that were completed recently and haven't been posted. More to come in the upcoming days!
Have a great Saturday and thanks for stopping by...

Praise the LORD!
I had been working on pieces to donate to a Christian School in the area that would auction them off in a fundraiser. I was putting together a package of some 9-10. After completing number 9, I said to myself "I need one more to finish off the group". Rather than making an additional doily I pulled out a filet butterfly short runner that I had made some years ago...even before I started the blog and added it to the pile.
The Good Lord had a hand in it, because the butterfly piece ended up in a "bidding war" with two people. The final bid was $340.00!!! Can you believe it!
Here's the piece!
In total the 10 pieces brought in $875-900 for the school!
Wonderful day for a good cause!

NOT a doily
"Shockcity"!!! I can crochet something other than a doily, runner, etc! Here's some preemie hats I recently made for a local hospital. I have made a total of 14 thus far. I like the way they are turning out. Found the pattern HERE. I found they make up really quickly. This is one of the side projects the group I joined at the local library does, while teaching others to crochet and knit.
Aren't they just TOO cute!
Have a blessed day!

Rhoda
I'd like to introduce you to RHODA, a designed by Grace Fearon. Made with ThreadArt size 10 and color #28, using a #5 hook. Measures 14.5 inches. You can purchase the pattern on her website, Emilyandthe.com.
ThreadArt crochet thread is made of 100% mercerized cotton. There are 175 yds to the ball, so it's small compared to some other brands. Their color selection is limited, but it is a wonderful classic crochet thread to work with in size 10. I purchased some several years ago off the web and decided to use up what I have remaining. I'm sure you can find to where to buy it with a google search.

Thanks for stopping by. I'm off to my weekly group at the local library on Thursday afternoons where those that don't know how to knit or crochet can learn from others. Right now I'm working with a lady to teach her the techniques of thread crochet.
